Great fun for all the family, including the children, our VegWatchers days are designed to celebrate a seasonal favourite and explore new ways of eating and cooking with it! Saturday 26th June is our Strawberry Fair day.
The atmosphere promises lots of summer fun village fete style! We'll have bunting, tombola, strawberry cream teas served in the Cafe and a cooking demo from 12noon to 1pm.
As well as trying lots of tasters plus collecting recipes to take home, why not enter your home-made jam into our Strawberry Jam Competition? You can enter your jam into either a) strawberries only or b) strawberries and other ingredients. The winning jam for each category wins a £25 Farm Shop voucher.
The rules are simple. The competition is free to enter. The jam must be made by yourself, and must include strawberries. Please present in a jar that does not have your name or details on it but please add a label that tells us the ingredients. Please bring your jam along any time from a week or so before the competition until 10am on the day of the competition. We may allow the public to try the jams under their judging numbers (your details kept private) so you may only get half a jar back!
Judging will take place during the day by our knowledgeable judges (including professional preservers). While you join in the fun of our Strawberry Fair you can watch them.
Our Strawberry Fair is free with no need to book; just pop along and join in between 10am and 4pm.
