As the popularity of country houses continues to increase and the stories within them are told in more innovative and elaborate ways, so too does the opportunity to reveal further untold stories. This one day conference seeks to bridge the gap between academic knowledge and industry practice, by inviting researchers and heritage professionals to share their work and experiences of uncovering and interpreting stories yet to be fully explored in country houses.
Along with the upcoming centenary of the RAF and women’s suffrage in 2018, to be discussed by our Keynote speaker, National Public Programmes Manager Tom Freshwater, we hope this conference will act as a platform for discussions of untold stories to further develop perspectives of the country house, expand and improve knowledge and enhance the visitor experience.
A one day conference organised by Leeds Beckett University with papers about untold stories of country houses from both scholars and heritage industry professionals. Includes buffet lunch and a House tour of Doddington Hall.
