Sculpture at Doddington Guide

This is an exciting new opportunity to volunteer at Doddington Hall and Gardens this Summer.

Between 28 July and 9 September our Gardens will be transformed for our fourth biennial fine outdoor and indoor Sculpture Exhibition. An exciting, inspiring and beautiful array of sculptures from across the UK and Europe will be displayed in our Gardens and Stable Yard Galleries. With Doddington Hall as a backdrop, our walled gardens, romantic wild gardens and the parkland beyond are the perfect foil for sculpture along with our large indoor gallery in our Stable Yard.

The aim of the role is to provide a welcoming presence and to deal with visitor enquiries, orientation and engagement whilst outdoors. You will also play a key role in presenting Doddington Hall and Gardens and the Sculpture Exhibition to its best advantage to the public and to ensure they have an enjoyable visit. On occasion you will be required to oversee and help visitors contribute to an exciting project, Plastic Fantastic. This will include helping in workshops and assisting and encouraging visitors to add to a sculpture that will be a focal point of the exhibition. You will also assist with the security and protection of the Gardens and its contents by being vigilant at all times while on duty.

This role requires an engaging and outgoing individual who is eager to help others and able to make confident decisions. This role would be particularly appealing to anyone interested in Sculpture, Art, Graphics, Photography, Design and a love of the outdoors.

Your start date would depend on your first available date to volunteer. Applications close 15 July.

The Sculpture Exhibition will be open daily from 28 July – 9 September and hours are 10:45-4.30pm. We are very flexible with how many hours and dates you are able to do and the days of the week that are most suitable for you.
