We are looking for an experienced team member for an exciting opportunity at the new Giant brand cycle store in Tugby. You’ll be part of a small but dynamic team, providing high levels of customer service on all fronts.

The role requires someone that can multi-task in delivering excellent customer service and selling products in a role that will vary day-to-day. The applicant should be flexible as well as a good problem solver and be able to work efficiently and independently.

Good general communication skills are crucial as well as basic computer literacy, both will be utilised on a daily basis.

The applicant should have experience of delivering high quality customer service and be able to act as deputy for store management tasks.

Responsibilities & Experience:

  • Provide high levels of customer service at every point of contact.
  • Knowledge of various bicycle types and technologies.
  • Ability to advise customers on products and close sales.
  • Be able to step in and act as deputy for store management tasks.
  • Previous experience in retail, sales or customer experience required.
  • Good communicator both with colleagues and customers.
  • Experience with good retail practice and delivering on KPI targets.
  • People management skills and experience would be advantageous.
  • A familiarity with EPOS/CRM systems would be advantageous, but training will be provided.

We have our own herd of Lincoln Red cattle for all our beef dishes, plentiful game, our own honey and foraged wild garlic along with fantastic year-round produce from our walled Kitchen Garden.

We are looking for a Chef de Partie who can support the kitchen brigade with maintaining standards and assisting different sections of the kitchen.

Required Experience

  • Previous experience from a similar environment, with a solid understanding of working with fresh ingredients & produce
  • Support the brigade with the day-to-day operation of the kitchen
  • Run the kitchen to the highest standard at all times
  • Ensure that all dishes are prepared and presented in accordance with the Head Chef’s directions
  • Minimise wastage through proper stock control and menu development
  • Manage all Kitchen H&S Systems and procedures
  • It is essential that you are able to work to a consistently high standard, in a calm manner, with a passion for producing high quality food

Salary: £22,698.00 – £26,700 experience dependent

Here at Doddington, we pride ourselves on our food and hospitality. Our team of chefs produce sensational dishes using the best of the local and seasonal produce available to them including fresh fruit, vegetables and salad from our very own Kitchen Garden; beef from our herd of Lincoln Red cattle and game from the estate, as well as produce from the local area.

Working as part of a dedicated team you will be responsible for maintaining high cleanliness standards within our busy kitchens which include a very busy cafe, award-winning restaurant and wedding venue. You will also need to ensure both the kitchen and front of house teams have the utensils and pots they require. You must have the ability to work well under pressure using your own initiative.

  • Dishwashing: All dishes, ranging from pots and pans to the cutlery, are either hand washed or loaded into the dishwasher by the Kitchen Porter.
  • Delivery Organisation: Kitchen Porters are responsible for receiving deliveries and ensuring that deliveries are organised once in the kitchen.
  • Storage Management: Storage must be organised so that all ingredients are easily accessible.
  • Waste Removal: Kitchen Porters empty all trash bins and ensure that all waste is disposed of promptly.
  • Basic Food Preparation: If a kitchen is extremely busy, kitchen staff may turn to Porters to perform basic food prep.
  • Material Collection: If a chef needs materials or ingredients, Kitchen Porters collect those materials often from the kitchen garden.
  • End of the Day Clean-Up: Once a kitchen is closed, Kitchen Porters assist in cleaning to make sure that the kitchen is ready for the next day.
  • Equipment Maintenance: All equipment is cleaned and maintained by a Kitchen Porter.
  • Following Instructions: Kitchens can be chaotic, so it is important that Porters follow instructions.
  • Ensuring a Safe Environment: Cleanliness is directly related to a safe cooking environment, and Kitchen Porters ensure a safe environment by effectively cleaning all cookware and cooking surfaces.
