Cooking in the Kitchen Garden Sat 24 May, free
Join us in our Kitchen Garden for our next free outdoor cooking demo using Doddington & local produce! Great for cooks and veg gardeners alike.
Take a seat in the sun or shade, and can watch the ingredients and veg being prepared and cooked, then get tasting. You're welcome to take the recipe to try at home and ingredients are available in the farm shop if you need them. Whilst things are simmering, bubbling, wilting or poaching, why not enjoy a look round our lovely restored two-acre Kitchen Garden? Our cook and recipe writer will be Amy, the village's resident lover of all things culinary. Stay for one recipe or all of them. We finish at approx. 1.30pm.
It's Thai, Japanese plus Italian / Spanish this month making the most of the fresh vibrant tastes of seasonal spring onion, radishes, salad leaves and herbs. The dishes prepared will be Free Range Chicken in Coconut Thai-style with Rice, the really quick Sweet Pork Sesame Noodles and Kitchen Garden Sushi (v). You'll all be making your own Sushi once you see what a doddle it is, and the fillings will all be Kitchen Garden & local veg produce (no fish!) Then learn a new way with sausages when Amy makes Lincolnshire Sausage Gnocchi, a sort of Italian / Spanish take on Bangers & Mash!
No need to book, and no charge. Just wander into the Kitchen Garden for the 11am start on Saturday 24 May! (Go through gate, turn left at the dipping pond.) The Café is open for lunch after the demo (not the demo dishes), but booking is advisable. (01522 688 581)
