VegWatchers Tomatoes! Farm Shop Sat 30th FREE
It will be a case of 'tomatoes, tomatoes everywhere' in the Farm Shop on Saturday 30th August between 11am and 2pm - and you're invited!
As a part of our free VegWatchers days, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, we'll be celebrating seasonal tomatoes with recipes, tastings and lots of tomatoe-y chat and advice from Claire Birch and Jane Forster. Do you love tomatoes too? Why not bring your recipes in to share?
There will be lots of different types of tomatoes on display as well - yellow, beef, vine, plum etc.
The recipes that you'll be able to taste include tomato & mozzarella salad, green tomato cake, saganaki (a Greek fried cheese dish), tomato focaccia (an Italian flat bread) , parmesan fried green tomatoes, panzanella (tomato and bread salad), tomato sandwich with mustard oil, sweet cherry tomato & sausage bake, three bean tomato & spinach stew and gazpacho (chilled Spanish soup) plus there will be extra recipes as well. When you've chosen your favourite dishes, take the free recipe home to try and let us know how you get on!
A visit will be great fun for children as well as gardeners and cooks. No need to book, and no cost - it's just for fun...
See you there.
