Ten plate canapes & wine tasting, Sat 9 August
Due to some cancellations, we have a some places available for our first evening tasting menu on Saturday 9th August at 7pm. Why not join us? At £29pp for ten courses of canape plates, each served with a tasting glass of Adnams wine, it's excellent value.
If the idea of relaxing outdoors in the evening whilst an array of delicious treats and complementary wines are brought to you, then this special evening is a must.
You’ll be relaxing outdoors in dappled evening warmth if the weather is good, or in the Café with candles if it is less than sultry. Sit back as ten delightful and surprising plates are brought to you, each comprising exquisite generous canapés accompanied by a tasting-sized glass of wine. Our Head Chef Tom Doran and wine experts, Adnams, have created your menu for the evening.
The ten courses will naturally comprise of Doddington, local and regional produce and will showcase fresh seasonal flavours as well as Tom and his team’s talents. Adnams’ refreshing and extremely palatable wines are the perfect match to Tom’s food so this is also the chance to get to know the range as well as improve your grape knowledge.
Savoury courses will include the delicate taste of seasonal gazpacho, more-ish mini fishcakes with dill mayonnaise, Lincolnshire ham hock terrine and mini marinated chicken kebabs. Sweet courses will include tiny lemon tarts and sumptuous truffles and of course there will be a selection of the region’s great cheeses. Each plate of canapés (one per couple or table but plenty for all) will be accompanied with a taster-sized glass of wine per person suitable to the plate but there will be the opportunity to purchase a full glass or bottle if you so wish.
For those who wish to know more about each wine they taste, an expert from Adnams will be on hand to informally chat.
The cost per person, for ten tasting plates and wine tasters, is £29pp. You may purchase additional glasses or bottles of wine if you wish. Plates start at 7pm, and the last plate will be served at approx. 9pm. The event finally finishes at 10pm.
