TAKE A TOUR WITH OUR HEAD GARDENER 24 FEB

For the keen gardener or those who love to see the result of hard work and dedication, there is a Plant Hunters Tour of the Ornamental Gardens at Doddington Hall on Sunday 24 February.

Organised by the RHS (Royal Horticultural Society) for its members but also open to non-members, the tour is led by our head gardener, Mike Owers. Join us and enjoy a walking tour round the ornamental gardens with Mike, and hear about the variety and history of the planting together with details of the special and ancient trees growing.

Among the plants that you can expect to see at this time of year are snowdrops, naturalised palest mauve Crocus Sieberii and Tomassianus, Wild Primroses, Scilla and Dog-toothed Violets; early Daffodils and Lent Lilies are also out, some three weeks early.

On arrival, you will be served coffee and home-made cake and there is the chance to enjoy lunch afterwards in the our farm shop café. (However lunch is not included in the price and should be pre-booked direct by calling 01522 688 581.)

To book the tour, the RHS should be called direct on 08456 121 253. The cost is £9.95 per person (RHS members), £11.95 all others. Duration is 1000 – 1230.

We host a small number of RHS tours during the year, which we publish on our calender of events page, so please do look out for other tours if you can not attend this one.

If you decide to attend this tour, we hope you have a wonderful time!
