Bread Day in the Farm Shop Saturday 8th May

It's National Bread Week 7th to 13th May so we're joining in with the excitement in the Farm Shop on Saturday 8th May! Try the limited edition Honey & Poppy Seed loaf made just for the day. We'll be joined by Welbeck bakery manager Elaine Baker who is bringing with her plenty of samples and tastings so you can explore the Welbeck range.

Welbeck is a very special bakery - one of only six or so of their type in the country - using wood-fired ovens and organic ingredients. Unlike processed bread, you won't find improvers, additives or processing agents in their bread so what you see is truly what you eat. Typical varieties include sunflower seed, small or large sour dough, 100% rye, capeseeded, fig & walnut sour dough, olive bread and foccacia plus chelsea buns, croissants, pain au chocolat and almond croissants.

We'll have tastings, recipes and expert advice. Whether you enjoy buying a lovely artisan loaf or you are thinking of having a go at making you own, pop in and see us.

We are of course currently celebrating Honey Week, so Welbeck has made a special limited edition Honey & Poppy Seed loaf just for our bread day - pop in and try it!  And if that isn't enough to tempt you, our very own cake expert chef Eileen is making a honey cake for you to try, as a part of Honey Week celebrations.

10am to 4pm. Free; no need to book.
