Chicory, forced rhubarb, kale etc: seasonal veg delicious right now at Doddington
Our Farm Shop veg is looking particularly delicious at the moment as Sarah has been busy creating a lovely display of wonderful seasonal veg! The Lincolnshire chicory is great (try using the leaves as scoops for dips) or enjoy the first of this season's forced Yorkshire rhubarb. A crumble suits the cold weather, or poach and serve with cream. The Seville oranges are now in, and the marmalade makers are starting to snap them up!
Gavin has been bringing in some lovely produce from our two-acre Kitchen Garden: kale, parsley, parsnips, celeriac, turnips, sprouts and sprout tops. The thought of those wintry stews is enough to make you grab suet for dumplings or try a chunky minestrone with pasta, celeriac, kale and parsley. Delicious and so seasonal.
Pop in and see Sarah soon, and don't forget we usually have bags of veg on offer.
