Gardens open until end of October (Sundays only)
The House may have closed now while it prepares for the Home Grown Christmas Open Weekends in late November and through December, but the Ornamental Gardens remain open on Sundays from 11am until 4pm until the end of October. Why not take the time to pop and see the Ornamental Gardens as they gracefully slip into autumn and winter. The continuing colour in the borders will delight, as will the changing colours of the leaves including those of the ancient gnarled chestnut trees. Younger family members can still enjoy the fun of the Maze and the Temple of the Winds looks charming as it beckons you towards the nature trails.
In the Kitchen Garden - included in admission - pumpkins nestle like orange jewels and apples hang like pendants on the espaliered trees. Sprouts are busy growing for Christmas, and the chard and beans look delicious.
