Garlic Weekend in the Farm Shop
It's Garlic Weekend in the Farm Shop this Saturday and Sunday. Free to attend, you can enjoy amazing tastings and collect lovely recipes. Star of the weekend will be Wild Garlic, strictly speaking a leaf not a bulb, that grows at Doddington.
Jane has lots of free recipes for you, including Garlic Chickpeas with Herb Potatoes, Wild Garlic Pesto and Baked Tomatoes with Garlic & Crumbs.
The tastings include garlic pickles, garlic croutons, garlic leaf cream sauce, garlic dressing among many other delicious dishes and products to try - Jane has been busy! The Deli is joining in with samples of Cornish Yarg wrapped in Wild Garlic. We'll also have samples of Garlic Chilli con Carne, which you can purchase to take home for supper. Welbeck bread has created some garlicky breads: Garlic & Stitchelton is amazing, the Garlic Foccacia is incredibly more-ish and we can barely wait for the Mozzarella & Garlic Calzone...
You can also learn more about cooking and eating garlic. For example, did you you know the taste of bulb garlic alters when you cook it? If you don't like it, it could be that you need to use it differently. Jane will have plenty of advice and ideas for you.
10am to 4pm in the Farm Shop Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 April. Free, just pop along.
