Meet Paolo Arrigo (Franchi Seeds) author of From Seed to Plate

This coming Saturday (2 October) at 11am, enjoy a fascinating talk with Paolo Arrigo at just £5pp. If you love growing from seed, cooking, eating and Italian culture this is unmissable!

We’ve been stocking Franchi Seeds of Italy in the Farm Shop for some time, and they are always very popular indeed (we use some of them in our Kitchen Garden as well) so we know you would love to meet the man behind the seeds and hear his thoughts, ideas and recommendations.

We want our customers to come along and make the most of this fascinating talk, so the price per person is just £5 which covers expenses.
Such is Paolo’s popularity that he has spoken at shows such as RHS Hampton Court, Country Living, BBC Gardeners’ World Live and outlets such as Petersham Nurseries,Waddesdon Manor, Harvey Nichols and RHS Wisley. Paolo’s book ‘From Seed to Plate’ includes recipes from chefs, delis and restaurants, all focusing on the Italian tradition of good food -  grown well, cooked well and enjoyed! Paolo is a man passionate about Italian food and ingredients, underpinned by having been raised in the family’s London deli and the 227 years experienced passed down through the Franchi seed company.
October, says Paolo, is the perfect time of year to talk about Italian food. People are thinking about what to grow next year as well as winter harvests, and they are busy preserving the last of the summer / autumnal produce. Paolo’s talk at Doddington will leave you with plenty of ideas about what to sow now plus an insight into Italian food culture and food from seed to plate. He will also chat about varieties and how each one is used in the kitchen and alpine veg varieties (Italy is 74% mountain so Italian varieties are often hardier). We feel very privileged to be able to offer our customers the chance to meet Paolo and gain a true Italian perspective on the culture of cooking and eating.
‘From Seed to Plate’ with Franchi’s Paolo Arrigo will take place at 11am on Saturday 2 October. It will last for approximately 60-90 minutes. Places must be reserved in advance.
