Meet the Preserving Experts on Saturday in the Farm Shop

On Saturday 14 August, Gill Maycock from Yorkshire-based Bracken Hill Fine Foods will be at our Farm Shop offering free tastings of her family business's award-winning preserves as well as the chance to chat about making jams, curds, jellies, marmalades etc. Bracken Hill will be in the Farm Shop from 11am to 3pm.

After twenty years making preserves for other people Gill's husband Neil  decided to 'go it alone' and produce high quality preserves using as many locally grown ingredients as possible.With the help of Gill, Bracken Hill Fine Foods was set up. Their son Peter joined them two years later and the family firm now produces some of Yorkshire's finest preserves.

The business, which has twenty awards, produces many varieties of marmalades, jams, curds, chutneys, jellies, sauces and mustards.

Gill is well-known at Doddington. Not only does she pop along for regular tastings, but she was also a judge at our marmalade and jam making competitions. Gill is as popular as her produce with our customers as people like to chat with her about home preserving!
