Saturday Night Seven starts this Saturday 20 June
Following on from the success of our Fish Supper Fridays which continue every Friday, we're delighted to tell you about our new Saturday Night Seven evening, which is a perfect way to enjoy a relaxing Saturday evening with friends or family.
With reservations available between 6pm and 8.30pm (booking is essential) guests will be presented with a succession of seven dishes on platters to share with the rest of their table. The platters will have been carefully chosen for you by our head chef Tom Doran and his team and are designed to complement each other as well as delight you, so all you have to do is sit back and relax. Weather permitting, you can even sit outside in our pretty courtyard...
Saturday Night Seven has been inspired by Tom's recent holiday to the Greek area of Cyprus where he enjoyed a seven course ‘Mezze’ featuring the best of the season’s produce. The owner of the Taverna, a gentleman named George, scoured his surrounding countryside for fresh herbs, mushrooms, wild plants and vegetables for use in his dishes, resulting in some of the freshest and tastiest rustic cooking possible.
Tom is a little busy to forage about in the countryside but he does have a wealth of fresh herbs, salads and vegetables at his disposal growing in our own fantastic two-acre walled Kitchen Garden, and these will star in our Saturday Night Seven evenings. The kitchen will also source some of their favourite produce from a little further afield as well. Tom will be getting locally reared meat from our in-house F.C Phipps butchery and fabulous fish direct from Grimsby Docks. All of this will be served at a pace that suits you throughout the evening, giving you time to relax and enjoy the night.
