THE KNIVES ARE OUT FOR PUMPKIN COMPETITION
We are holding our popular pumpkin carving competition again on Saturday 29 October, and we are urging the county’s carvers to enter their spooky creations.
The search for the best carved pumpkin is part of the Farm Shop’s VegWatchers Pumpkin Day, when this seasonal favourite – along with squash – is celebrated.
There will be tasters plus recipes to take home, as well as a lovely display of rotund pumpkins and squashes. But we are also looking for the most creative and scary carved pumpkin...
Big or small, scary or funny, anything goes and anyone can enter our free competition. We split the competition into Aged 16 & Under and Aged 17 & Over. Entrants need to bring their carved pumpkin along to the Farm Shop between 9am and 3pm on Saturday 29 October then judging is at 3pm.
There will be a prize for the winner of each category of a pass for 2 adults and 2 children to one of our See the Hall Decorated' Christmas weekends plus each winner will get a spooky goodie bag as well!
For entrants who would like to start practising or want to choose the best pumpkin and store it until nearer the time, Connecticut and Jack O’Lantern pumpkins grown in the Kitchen Garden at Doddington are now on sale.
VegWatchers: Pumpkin Day is on Saturday 29 October, 10am to 4pm, free entry.
