Try the World's Hottest Chilli at Cooking Demo this Sat

This Saturday (19th) is our last free Cooking in the Kitchen Garden demo this year but we're finishing on a high with a chilli con carne featuring the World's Hottest Chilli! We really hope you can join us for this free event.

Don't worry if you're not keen on chilli, the dish line up has something for everyone including Kitchen Garden Autumn Salad - lots of tasty ingredients combine together to make a really fresh and healthy dish; delicious Leek & Bacon Soup with Pork Croutons, perfect for cool evenings as winter approaches; Beetroot, Scorzonera & Horseradish Soup and bring along a small jar or tub as we'll be making Fresh Kitchen Garden Tutti Frutti Jam from all the seasonal fruit to be found here at Doddington, including plums, damsons, raspberries, rhubarb (strictly speaking veg!) and even figs.

Please arrive by 11 am to get comfy, then let your cook for the morning Amy Claridge do all the work! (We suggest you arrive by 10.50am but do come earlier if you would like to have a wander round the Kitchen Garden beforehand.)

The demo takes place in the Kitchen Garden. Please come into the Kitchen Garden, and turn left at the Dipping Pond. We will be partially under cover so you can sit in the sun, or in the shade. No need to book, and no cost, it's just for fun!

As well as the Bhut Jolokia (the hot one!) we also have the Fatalie, the Fish, the Peruvian Lemon Drop and the Ring of Fire on sale, also grown here at Doddington.
The Fatalie is a very hot 3” fruit and a brilliant orange colour. The Fish is stripy green and orange then turns red, really pretty. It has an Afro American heritage with really attractive marbled foliage.
The Peruvian Lemon Drop is used in Peru to season meals. It’s bright yellow, and is a long conical crinkly fruit with few seeds and an intensely hot citrus
