With over 30 years of experience in providing school visits we pride ourselves on the flexibility and variety of curriculum based KS1 & KS2 workshops that we offer.
We have recently expanded our school workshop offerings to include more outdoor based learning and a tailor-made look at our rare and unique 16th century tapestries.
Doddington Hall provides the perfect setting for workshop based learning. With a choice of 9 sessions based in the Hall, Ornamental and Kitchen gardens and the surrounding farmland, Doddington is ideal for inquisitive minds and children who love to explore.
Whether you are looking at life in Tudor or Victorian times or studying outdoor science, Doddington provides a host of learning opportunities. Our experienced education team will tailor each workshop to the age and abilities of the class, making it a busy, fulfilling day for children throughout their primary years.
All classes are encouraged to take an interactive tour of the Hall led by a costumed guide who will explore the house in character with the children. To this add your choice of workshops which can be discussed with our team to enable us to suit your numbers, curriculum and timings ensuring your class’s day runs as smoothly as possible. This programme has been supported by The Heritage Lottery Fund.
It is expected that a school specific risk assessment is carried out by a representative of the school prior to the children visiting. School visits are available March – October. The cost is £5.00 per child, accompanying teachers and adults are complimentary.
“I really enjoyed the trip to Doddington Hall. I’ve been on lots of trips but this one was the most organised I have ever taken part in. All the staff knew what they were doing, the children were fully engaged and I was fully prepared and briefed”. Mount Street Academy.
“Thank you so much for making this such a wonderful experience for our children and for playing such a vital part In their learning for their Now and Then theme. The Year 1 team look forward to visiting Doddington Hall in the future with our classes”. Laura Wright, Year 1 Leader & Teacher.
