Join Rachel Petheram of Catkin Flowers in the beautiful setting of the walled Kitchen Garden at Doddington Hall.

For anybody who would like to grow flowers in a wilder way, to grow beautiful things with a lighter touch and a softer footprint. You may want to produce beautiful ingredients to use for a business, you may want to create a diverse habitat in your garden, you may want to spend more time outside, growing things that are inspiring for you. This day course will introduce you to growing cut flowers and is suitable for all levels of experience.

Growing flowers is such a joy and one I love to share. I grow flowers to produce beautiful ingredients, to create a diverse habitat in my plot, to connect with nature and the seasons, to lessen anxiety, to interact with the soil and living things.

However large or small you’d like your cutting patch to be and whether growing for business or pleasure, learning from a seasoned grower makes all the difference. I can share my experience and give you the confidence to grow in a way that works for you and what you need it for. I believe passionately that growing is a conversation between us and our plots and that the way forward is to work in harmony with the habitat we have. After years of growing cut flowers I have stopped thinking as a ‘producer’ and more as a collaborator with my garden. I grow intuitively and listen to what my garden is telling me. It is a gentler, wilder form of growing and helps to deepen our connection with nature as well as giving us gorgeous produce.

Whether this is your first foray into growing or you’ve seen a few seasons come and go, you are welcome. Come and explore a wilder way of growing cut flowers in a relaxed, down to earth and inspiring workshop.
