Military History Day
Military history comes to life at Doddington this September as we welcome the Lincolnshire Military Vehicle Group for a special display of historic military vehicles, alongside guided tours of the MC Tsen Military Uniform Collection.
On Sunday 13 September, members of the Lincolnshire Military Vehicle Group, a community of enthusiasts dedicated to preserving and sharing military vehicle heritage, will bring a selection of historic vehicles to Doddington for visitors to see up close.
Uniform Collection Tours
Alongside the vehicle display, we will be running two special guided tours of the MC Tsen Military Uniform Collection, featuring an impressive array of uniforms, accessories and memorabilia that offer a fascinating insight into military history.
The collection also contains uniforms and accessories belonging to members of the Delaval and Jarvis families, offering a fascinating insight into military service and family history at Doddington.
11am tour
Advance booking required. Places are limited - Fully booked.
1.30pm tour
Spaces will be available to sign up for on the day on a first come, first served basis.
Uniform Collection tours last approximately one hour.
Tours are free of charge, but cash donations to the Doddington Hall Conservation Charity are welcome.
Please note that tours are not suitable for children. All attendees must be aged 16 or over.
Make a day of it
Doddington Hall & Gardens will also be open, making it an ideal opportunity to spend the day exploring more than 400 years of history and heritage across the estate. Usual admission applies for the Hall & Gardens.
You can also enjoy lunch, coffee and cake in our cafés and browse the estate shops during your visit.
About the Lincolnshire Military Vehicle Group
The Lincolnshire Military Vehicle Group brings together enthusiasts from civilian and military backgrounds, including serving personnel and veterans, with a shared passion for historic military vehicles.
The group regularly displays its vehicles across Lincolnshire and supports museums, organisations, charities and commemorative events throughout the county. It is affiliated with the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby and is a member of the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs.
