Cycling Routes

Doddington Hall is close to some of the best cycle routes in Lincolnshire, making it the perfect place to start (and end) your ride.

From relaxed cycling trails around the Estate to more challenging countryside rides, there’s something for every rider. Perfectly placed for exploring the local area, Doddington Hall is an ideal starting point for those wanting to venture into the city of Lincoln or out into the surrounding towns and villages.

What might
you see?

Since launching Wilder Doddington, we have seen a growing variety of wildlife return to the estate. Our rewilded landscape now provides valuable habitats for both native and migrating species.

Georgie Twigg Track

Starting at Kennel Lane, just over the road from Doddington Hall, the Georgie Twigg Track is a simple and scenic way to explore the beautiful Lincolnshire landscape.

Named after Olympic gold medallist and Lincolnshire local Georgie Twigg, this smooth ribbon of tarmac offers an easy, traffic-free cycling route through the countryside towards the city of Lincoln.

With gentle sweeping bends (and no hills!), this relaxed, low-impact track is suitable for riders of all ages and abilities. As it is entirely off-road, it’s also a safe and enjoyable option for families with children.

If you’re looking for more of a challenge, the Georgie Twigg Track links Doddington Hall to National Cycle Network Route 64, a largely flat route running from Lincoln to Bingham in Nottinghamshire.

Mountain Bike Trail

If you’re looking for a bit more adventure, we’ll let you in on a little secret.

Head to Giant Lincoln and you can sign up to access our hidden mountain bike trail. Free to use, this exciting single track route will have you weaving through the trees on an off-road adventure.

Once you discover the location of our best-kept secret, it’s easy to access. Simply park at the Hall and you can ride down to the start of the track. As the connecting route is relatively flat, it’s great for families - and younger riders will love discovering what awaits at the end!

Whether you want to improve your off-road skills or simply enjoy a relaxed ride through the woodland, this mountain bike trail is a great way to get off the beaten track and make the most of cycling at Doddington.

Please note that sometimes it is necessary to close the trail at short notice due to circumstances outside of our control.
