We are committed to making our historic estate as accessible and welcoming as possible for all visitors, but due to the historic nature of the building and grounds, some areas have limited access.
The Hall
The upper two floors of Doddington Hall are not wheelchair accessible. There is a ramp in place to provide access to the ground floor for manual wheelchairs. Electric wheelchairs and scooters cannot be used inside the Hall.
To help all visitors enjoy the Hall, a virtual tour of the upper floors is available on the ground floor. Featuring both audio and text, it offers an alternative experience for visitors who are unable to access the upper floors easily.
Due to the limited accessibility of the upper floors, the Hall is not suitable for pushchairs. We recommend leaving pushchairs at the front desk during your visit.

The Gardens
Most of our gardens are accessible by wheelchair. Please note that many of the paths are grass or gravel, which may be more difficult to navigate with a standard wheelchair, particularly in wet weather conditions.
Ramps and graded slopes are provided to access the different levels throughout the gardens. A free map showing step-free routes and routes avoiding narrow bridges is available from the Gatehouse.
Please be aware that wheelchair routes around the gardens may be longer due to the location of ramps and accessible pathways.

Is the house accessible by wheelchair?
The ground floor of Doddington Hall is accessible for manual wheelchair users using ramps. Due to the historic nature of the building, the upper floors are not wheelchair accessible. Please note that electric wheelchairs and mobility scooters cannot be used inside the Hall.
Are there accessible parking spaces?
Yes. Dedicated Blue Badge parking is available close to the entrances of the Gatehouse and the Farm Shop, making it easier to access the estate.
Can I bring my assistance dog?
Yes. Assistance dogs are welcome throughout the Hall, Gardens, shops and cafés. Please note that while pet dogs are not permitted in certain areas, assistance dogs are always welcome.
Are there accessible toilets?
Yes. Accessible toilets are available in the Gardens, the Farm Shop Café courtyard, the Grain Store Café and the Coach House.
Are the gardens accessible by wheelchair?
Most of the 5-acre Gardens can be explored by wheelchair. There are ramps and graded slopes to provide access between different levels, and a free map highlighting step-free routes is available from the Gatehouse. Please be aware that many paths are gravel or grass, which may be more difficult to navigate depending on the weather and the type of wheelchair being used.
Do you offer audio guides?
Doddington Hall does not currently offer traditional handheld audio guides. However, visitors who cannot access the upper floors can use the ground floor virtual tour, which includes both audio and text. The estate also offers sensory tours of the Hall and Gardens with tactile drawings and plans for visually impaired visitors, and a volunteer guide can be arranged in advance.
Is the Tea Room accessible?
Our Tea Room is located in the Coach House which is fully accessible to wheelchairs. The entrance has double doors and there are no steps from the Green Wing dining room into the garden. There is a disabled loo on the ground floor.
Do you offer discount for carers?
We offer 2 for 1 entry for carers. Carers of disabled visitors (who themselves are only able to visit the House and/or Gardens with the help of a carer) are admitted free of charge.
