Highlights

Autumn at Doddington

Autumn is one of the most beautiful seasons to visit Doddington. From the changing leaves to the early morning frost, there’s something quite magical in the air.

Throughout October, the gardens at Doddington Hall are open daily, offering the chance to experience the estate at its most atmospheric. Fiery leaves frame the Hall in a tapestry of colour, bringing a burst of brightness to even the darkest autumn day.

With the same autumnal hues transforming Wilder Doddington, you can enjoy some stunning walks through the parkland and out into the ancient woodland. As the colder weather brings a whole host of new wildlife to look out for, you never know who you might see along the way.

On our autumn menus, we celebrate the best of the harvest, with comforting dishes inspired by our own estate-grown produce. Of course, our pumpkins take centre stage, as we grow over 30 varieties of pumpkin, squash and gourd in our Kitchen Garden.

There are all sorts of creative ways to cook with these seasonal crops. If our dishes inspire you to try something new at home, you’ll find plenty of pumpkins to choose from in our Farm Shop. And if you want to pick your own, a visit to the Doddington Hall Pumpkin Patch is an autumn essential!

Thinking about
stopping by?

With so much to do at Doddington, it can be hard to fit everything into just one day. So here are a few useful things to know before you set off:

The countdown begins!

Our Bauble Barn opens in September, marking the official start of the countdown to Christmas at Doddington.

Located in the Stable Yard, our Bauble Barn is open daily, giving you plenty of opportunity to start building your collection ahead of the festive season.  Bursting with decorations, you will find something for every taste, theme and budget.

If you’re not quite ready for Christmas in September (bah, humbug!) you’ll also find plenty of autumnal decorations, perfect for creating a cosy hygge vibe at home.

Time to indulge

After a busy summer of weddings in the Coach House, the Doddington Tea Room reopens for afternoon tea in October.

Returning with a brand new menu, inspired by the warm, comforting flavours of the season, this is one of the best ways to spend a cosy autumn day with friends and family.

With everything made in-house by our talented team of chefs, you can indulge in an array of seasonal sandwiches, delicious sweet treats and, of course, our famous Doddington scones.
