SAFEGUARDING POLICY STATEMENT

Doddington Hall Conservation Charity (no. 1114539)

The Doddington Hall Conservation Charity (DHCC) is committed to ensuring that children (including unborn babies), and vulnerable adults are safe and protected from all forms of abuse and neglect.

We recognise our responsibility to respond appropriately and with respect to children and vulnerable adults, to work with other agencies to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those groups with whom we have contact and to have clear guidelines for our procedures.
  • We believe every child and vulnerable adult should be valued, safe and happy. We want to make sure that the people we have contact with know this and are empowered to tell us if they are suffering harm including those we may also come into contact with whose unborn babies are at risk and people who are experiencing domestic abuse.
  • We want children and vulnerable adults who use or have contact with DHCC to enjoy what we have to offer in safety.
  • We want organisations that work with or commission work from us, or who provide funding to us, to have confidence and recognise that we are a safe organisation.
  • All staff and volunteers working with children and vulnerable adults go through our safer recruitment policy and have an Enhanced DBS check before working independently with groups.
  • We have an effective safeguarding procedure in place to protect children and vulnerable adults.
  • We will take seriously any concern or complaint made about anyone representing the organisation. All staff, volunteers and subcontractors will be made aware of the ‘Feedback Policy containing the Complaints Procedure’ and will be encouraged to use this.
If we discover or suspect a child or vulnerable adult is suffering harm we will notify Lincolnshire County Council’s safeguarding services:

01522 782111 – Main Lincolnshire Country Council Children’s Safeguarding (Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm)
01522 554674 – Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO)
01522 782333 – Outside Office Hours

Our safeguarding children and vulnerable adults policy statement and our Safeguarding children and vulnerable adults procedures apply to all staff and volunteers and anyone carrying out any work for us.

We will review our safeguarding children and vulnerable adults’ policies and procedures at least every year to make sure they are still relevant and effective. Our next review will be due in December 2026.

SAFEGUARDING IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF EVERYONE – DOING NOTHING IS NOT AN OPTION
