VOLUNTEERING

From the great outdoors to bringing history to life, we've got a range of different opportunities to get involved at Doddington.

Volunteering can be an extremely rewarding experience. From making new friends to enhancing your skill set, volunteering is a great opportunity to make a real difference. Join our community of wonderful volunteers and learn more about Doddington Hall, so you can share all that’s special - indoors and out.

KITCHEN GARDEN

We have exciting new opportunities to volunteer within our Kitchen Garden. Just a stone’s throw from the Hall, the Kitchen Garden provides an abundance of seasonal fruit, vegetables, salads and herbs which take centre stage on our Café, Restaurant and Wedding menus, and are regularly for sale in our Farm Shop.

Working with our Kitchen Gardener, you’ll learn a blend of modern and traditional techniques such as crop rotation, biological controls and no-dig beds, to naturally maximise productivity and minimise pests. There will also be the opportunity of caring for our apple and pear trees and the possibility of getting involved in our new soft fruit area.

THE UNIFORM COLLECTION

Housed in a purpose built space above the Doddington Farm Wagon Collection, the Uniform Collection includes 900 military uniforms and 3,000 accessories, including hats, swords and boots. The stunning exhibits are a testament to one man’s passion for military history and craftsmanship.

We’re currently looking for volunteer guides to join the Uniform Collection Team at Doddington Hall.

In particular, we are looking for enthusiastic people who enjoy engaging with visitors and are genuinely interested in the conservation of the collection, military history and British Army traditions. Some military experience is preferable but not essential as training will be given.

If you’d like to be part of a wonderful team and help us share the history of the Uniform Collection then we’d love to hear from you.

THE GARDENS

For many, the Gardens at Doddington are just as spectacular as the Hall itself. Remaining faithful to the original Elizabethan layout, mellow walls provide the framework for the formal East Front and West Gardens. Beyond the West Garden begins the lovingly restored Wild Gardens.

We’re currently looking for volunteers to join our Garden Team at Doddington.

In particular, we are looking for volunteers who have general garden machine maintenance experience. Machinery includes mowers, hedge cutters, chainsaws, strimmers and more.

If you’d like to be part of a wonderful team and help us keep the Gardens looking beautiful then we’d love to hear from you.

THE HALL

Over 400 years of unbroken family occupation has resulted in fascinating collections of furniture, weaponry, paintings, ceramics, textiles, household objects, porcelain and a wealth of amusing stories all to be found in and around Doddington Hall.

Due to high levels of interest, we are not currently recruiting for Hall volunteers. However, please check back soon for future opportunities.
