Walk on the Wild Side at Wilder Doddington

Join us for a unique off-road safari to see our ‘Big 3’ pioneering eco-engineers here at Doddington. We can’t guarantee lions and rhino, but there will be no shortage of wildlife action along the way.

For this outdoor adventure, our guides will take you in one of our vehicles to see our Lincoln Red cattle, Exmoor ponies and charismatic pigs out in the wild. Once we’ve tracked them down, you will have the chance to discover more about the roles they play in creating the unique landscape – and making Doddington wilder!

This is a rare chance to leave the public footpaths with the Wilder Team, explore the rapidly changing landscape and see the nature that is returning to Wilder Doddington. 

Please note: Please be prepared to do some walking on uneven ground as we may not be able to get the vehicles close to the animals on the day.

• Whatever the weather we will take a walk with several stops. We may use the minibus to reach remoter parts of the Wilding
• We regret the surfaces are incredibly uneven so we cannot cater for wheelchairs
• Please dress appropriately for the weather and ground conditions. Long trousers and long sleeves along with suitable footwear are a requirement for a comfortable visit.  Bring waterproofs if wet or cold. 
• Much of our wildlife enjoys their entire life on the ground.  Please don’t bring your dog – it may disturb what we hope to see
• All guests must be over 16yrs. 16-18 year olds must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
