ONE NIGHT STAYS NOW AVAILABLE AT ALL OF OUR HOLIDAY COTTAGES

Spring Birdwatch

Event Detail

Start Date: March 22, 2026
End Date: March 22, 2026
Time: 10am-12.30pm
£30 per person

Springtime on the estate is an exciting time as our feathered migratory birds return to nest and fill the countryside with their song.

Join local birder, Matt Vickers, and our Wilder Doddington Conservation Adviser, Matt Capper, for a relaxed birdwatching walk around Wilder Doddington and learn to identify birds through their appearance, song and calls. Matt will take you away from the public footpaths and into the heart of Wilder Doddington to seek out our exciting spring visitors and see and hear which birds are present.

Your Guide: Matt Vickers has been interested in birds and wildlife since he was a child. For the last 25 years he has been involved as a volunteer surveyor for the RSPB, BTO, National Trust and more recently, Wilder Doddington. Matt is particularly interested in bird song and bird calls as these add an extra dimension to bird identification – you don’t actually have to see the bird!

No experience required, just a keen ear and a pair of binoculars if you have them.
