coincides with the opening of the
for the season but it’s the perfect opportunity to be inspired, writes its organiser Amy Claridge. For several years, the biannual craft fairs at Doddington Hall have given local crafters and makers the chance to exhibit their creations but it has also proved popular with people looking for an unusual gift or to be inspired. As everything on display has been made by the person on the other side of the table, the fairs are a chance to meet the crafters and perhaps ask questions or understand more of the creative process. A broad range of skills will be on display including textiles, wool, jewellery, pottery, wood, glass, candles etc. There are some new crafters, as well as some regulars. Laura Bell is new this Easter with her soy wax candles as is Edmena Holland, who makes useful items from recycled coffee sacks. Rachel Moore’s gifts made with repurposed cycle inner tubes are fantastically creative and Jan Relf’s coasters will enchant you. After several years of not attending, Snail Pottery is back alongside glass regulars Shedglas, Rosemary Pike and Adele Billinghay. It promises to be an inspirational and enjoyable two days! Easter Sunday 16 & Monday 17 April, 10am-5pm.The same crafters will be present on both days. Admission £1 per person (under 16s free of charge).
