Caroline grew up on a Cotswolds farm, surrounded by nature and the quiet space to observe it deeply. This early connection to the natural world led her to recognise and trust in her own instinctive reaction to her surroundings, as well as an understanding of animal character and behaviour.

Expressing this through art was a natural development. After training as a solicitor and living abroad for 24 years, she returned to the Cotswolds in 2000, rekindling her first love—sculpture.

Her work is largely figurative, and living things remain the bedrock and inspiration. Fascinated by the way that thought, emotion and instinct are expressed externally in form, she is particularly drawn to moments when the subject is totally absorbed, whether in stillness or movement. It is then that they most reveal their inner nature, to be captured in her art.

Caroline works in clay because it feels right under her hands, which want to build up shapes and textures rather than to carve away. Beginning with terracotta pieces, she moved on to having many pieces cast into limited editions, and her works now range from small ceramic pieces and bronze limited editions to larger outdoor sculptures in metal and stone resins. They can be found in private collections throughout the UK and Europe, as well as in Australia, Canada and the USA.
