FEATURED SCULPTORS

Nicola Axe

Nicola Axe first discovered her passion for stone carving during a sculpture course in 2009 and hasn’t looked back since. For Nicola, carving is challenging but deeply fulfilling. Working with this tactile medium is rhythmic, meditative, and full of life lessons.

Fred Gordon

Fred Gordon is an award-winning British sculptor whose work is deeply rooted in a passion for conservation and the natural world. He completed a Foundation Diploma at Falmouth, followed by an MA in History of Art and French at Edinburgh University. Since graduating in 2017, Fred has worked as a full-time sculptor.

Jemma Gowland

Jemma Gowland trained in Engineering Product Design and worked in industrial and architectural design before becoming a Design and Technology teacher. Her fascination with ceramics grew due to its versatility, technical challenges and endless opportunities.

John O'Connor

British sculptor John O’Connor started out ‘on the tools’ as a bricklayer. In his late twenties, John completely reinvented himself and embarked on his dream ambition of becoming a sculptor. He received his formal training with what was formerly known as ‘ The Sculpture Academy’ at London Bridge in 1999.

Andrew Sinclair

Andrew Sinclair MRSS SWAc is recognised as a master of world-class figurative sculpture and is one of the world’s leading realist figurative sculptors working today. He teaches his unique ‘narrative realism’ to students all over the world and has now been working to commission for over 30 years.

Michael Thacker

From the local limestone he carves to the natural shapes his work harks back to, Michael’s time spent in Lincolnshire still shines through in his abstract-style sculptures. Having studied sculpture at Loughborough University, followed by training at York as a stone mason, Michael then found himself in our county – working at Lincoln Cathedral no less as a carver/mason.
