Following the government’s latest announcements and the reintroduction of some Covid restrictions, we wanted to tell you about our plans at Doddington from 15 December onwards.

The Estate remains open as usual, including our ‘Secret Gardens’ Christmas event.

With the health and wellbeing of our visitors and colleagues being our number one priority the following procedures will be implemented:

  • Our customer-facing staff and volunteers will continue to wear face coverings indoors.
  • It is now mandatory that visitors wear face coverings in all indoor settings across the estate (The Hall, shops, catering outlets & facilities). However, in line with Government guidance, visitors will not need to wear face coverings while sat in our catering outlets.
  • Hand sanitiser will remain in place at entrances across the estate
  • We will continue to monitor visitor numbers in the Hall and retain the preference for timed tickets to be booked online in advance.
  • Vaccination Passports will not be required to access the Estate.

We will be reviewing these measures regularly, and update them when we feel it is in the best interests of our visitors and colleagues.

The Elizabethan Hall has recently undergone extensive restoration work to the fabric of the building. This crucial work was a once in a generation opportunity to repair the fabric of the Hall and several large sections of garden wall.

The work has now been completed and the scaffolding has been dismantled.
