Wheel of The Year
The wheel of the year is a calendar based on ancient Celtic and Germanic festivals that celebrated our connection with nature.
The calendar revolves around eight festivals, each one signalling a shift in the season, weather and the natural world around us. The purpose of this calendar is to connect with nature and its cycles. Celebrating these seasonal shifts is intended to help us to deepen our connection to nature and our awareness of the seasons and the earth.
Rachel Petheram of Catkin Flowers has put together 8 courses at each point of the wheel to honour and celebrate the seasonal cycles. They are a range of different workshops designed to be in tune with the season and in step with the ancient festivals.
31 October 2026: Samhain
21 December 2026: Winter Solstice (Yule)
1 February 2027: Imbolc
19 March 2027: Spring Equinox (Ostara)
1 May 2027: Beltane
21 June 2027: Summer Solstice (Litha)
31 July 2027: Lammas
23 September 2027: Autumn Equinox (Mabon)
