Autumn Explorers
Make the most of October half term with a wild autumn adventure at Wilder Doddington.
Step into the wild and see how the autumn landscape comes alive. Our Autumn Explorers session invites young nature lovers to journey through the diverse, changing habitats of Wilder Doddington, discovering the wildlife, colours and seasonal changes of autumn along the way.
We’ll head out on an immersive walk, keeping our eyes peeled for seasonal surprises, from fungi emerging across the landscape to the minibeasts and wildlife making their home here. Through playful sensory activities, children will be encouraged to slow down, look closely and connect with the natural world around them.
We’ll finish by getting creative with nature-inspired autumn art and exploring some of the fascinating ways wildlife prepares for the colder months.

Make a day of it and stay for lunch or enjoy refreshing drinks and homemade treats in one of our Cafés after a morning of exploring! (Not included in ticket price).

Important
information
Booking is essential as places are limited. A ticket must be booked for each child attending and all children must be accompanied by an appropriate adult at all times.
This event is suitable for children aged 5–12.
The session will last approximately 2 hours and we will start promptly, so please arrive in plenty of time.
The event will take place on the Doddington Estate and the meeting point will be confirmed in a pre-event email ahead of the session.
This is an outdoor session and will go ahead whatever the weather, but may be rescheduled or cancelled if conditions are severe. Please check the forecast before setting off and come prepared.
Activities may be adapted according to the weather, conditions and what we discover on the day.
Please dress for the weather and ground conditions. Long trousers and robust walking shoes or wellies that can get muddy are essential. Waterproofs and warm layers are recommended.
No dogs permitted. Much of our wildlife lives on the ground and dogs may disturb wildlife.
Free parking is available on site.
Please note that tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable unless the event is cancelled.
