Andrew Smith

of Nottinghamshire, UK

Andrew Smith has been sculpting for over 30 years, working primarily in stone. He began his career as a monumental mason and carver in London, honing his craft through traditional techniques before transitioning into life as a full-time artist. Today, he continues his practice from his studio in Nottingham.

His own work is predominantly figurative, portraying the human form, but he has worked on other subjects when commissioned.

Andrew has previously exhibited at Doddington and has large public works in Leicestershire, Nottinghamshire, and London. Most recently, in Nottingham town centre, he created a full-sized statue of St Luke in Portland stone for the Nottingham Society of Artists for their gallery and studio on Friar Lane.
