Fred Gordon

of London, UK

Fred Gordon is an award-winning British sculptor whose work is deeply rooted in a passion for conservation and the natural world. He completed a Foundation Diploma at Falmouth, followed by an MA in History of Art and French at Edinburgh University. Since graduating in 2017, Fred has worked as a full-time sculptor.

Drawing inspiration from wildlife in their natural habitats, Fred’s subjects span the British countryside and extend to places further afield, including Sri Lanka and a three-month residency in South Africa.

Fred sculpts by layering heated sheets of wax, a technique that introduces spontaneity and an element of fragmentation in the work. The finished wax forms are then cast in bronze.

Fred exhibits regularly with galleries across the UK, including Grandy Art, Collier & Dobson, The Wykeham Gallery, Sculpture by the Lakes, and Clarendon Fine Art. In 2017, Fred was awarded The Diana Brooks Prize at Art for Youth.
