Hildegard Pax

of Kent, UK

Hildegard Pax is an award-winning glass artist and designer, creating mesmerising fields of colour inspired by light and reflections.

Combining her background in interior design with a post-graduate diploma in architectural glass, Hildegard has designed architectural glass for projects in Germany and the UK, working with German and British glass studios on the implementation and installation of the artwork.

The inspiration for her work stems from the observation of light in nature. Hildegard 'paints with light' using dichroic glass to compose colour, lines and patterns. In her wall sculptures, constructed layered compositions play with rhythm, light and perception, inviting the eye to wander and the mind to question what it is seeing. Light is a key element when viewing the work, and its effects bring the work to life in unexpected and surprising ways.

Her work has been shown at the Collect Art Fair in London, the Affordable Art Fair in New York, CONTEXT Art Miami and SOFA Chicago, as well as art karlsruhe in Germany.
