Born in High Wycombe, UK, in 1984, Mike Clancy currently splits his time between London, Barcelona and Buckinghamshire where he has a workshop and studio. Mike initially qualified as a RIBA registered architect in 2012, an experience which has become deeply rooted in his work.
A mix of figurative, abstract and conceptual in a variety of media, Mike’s sculptures seek to bridge the gap between art and architecture and have been featured in MEAM (Museo Europeo de Arte Moderno), Barcelona, the RHS Chelsea Flower Show and The Society of Portrait Sculptors FACE2024 exhibition.
Inspired by monumental and classical art, influenced by artists such as Gargallo, Picasso and Richard Serra, the sculptures have been developed over five years. Composed of 2-dimensional planes of metal which create spatial 3-dimensional pieces, this series of pieces animate as you journey around them.
