Nik Burns

of Shropshire

Nik Burns has been creating one-of-a-kind sculptures that have been exhibited internationally since completing his Arts degree at Hereford College of Arts in 2013. His work draws inspiration from the natural world, with striking figurative pieces that feature larger-than-life insects, fish and animal forms.

Driven by the journey, continuously experimenting with materials and processes, Nik’s practice explores the tension and harmony between organic life and mechanical form. Working primarily with steel, he breathes vitality into an otherwise rigid and industrial material, creating dynamic sculptures that fuse nature with machine. This interplay is a central theme in his work, offering a unique perspective on transformation, resilience and the unexpected beauty found in contrasts.
