Noah Taylor

of Plymouth, UK

Noah Taylor is a multi-disciplinary fine artist and maker of sculptures and furniture with specialist skills in blacksmithing and mid-scale metals.

He has many interests, such as the myths and legends from ancient Greece and the more contemporary heroes from the comics of his childhood growing up in Texas in the 1960s. These influences, coupled with an extensive knowledge of art history and a passion for the Arts and Crafts movement, Art Nouveau and Art Deco, all inform the composition of his sculptural work.

His three-dimensional collages are made from copper, brass and bronze, seamlessly combining found objects, fabricated containers and hand-cast components, which are completed with a bespoke patina or silver plating. Noah has a BA (hons) in Fine Art, taught Foundation Art History and Sculpture at Cornwall College and has recently retired from his role of Technical Resource Manager at Arts University Plymouth so that he can focus on his creative practice.
