Val Adamson is a figurative sculptor. Initially sculpting figures in clay, Val then casts her pieces into bronze, bronze resin and iron resin.
Val sculpts from her Studio in the Cotswolds where she has taught figurative classes for the past 25 years in addition to being a visiting University tutor. She exhibits in outdoor exhibitions on a regular basis and holds a First-Class Honours Degree in Fine Art Sculpture.
Her most recent work was inspired by the dramatic sculptural hair forms of tribal African women which she has combined with masks and art works from the same tribes. This has developed into a series of pieces that combine a figurative expression with an abstract form reflecting that emotion.
