Richard Cresswell has been a sculptor for over 20 years, and now, after more than two decades sculpting, he’s decided that it’s time to shake things up this year and make more work which have deeper meanings.
The first, ‘The Hug’, aims to make viewers think about what that simple action can convey, caring, concern, congratulation, empathy are just the start of a long list.
His sculptures are not necessarily life-size or totally anatomically correct because the message is in the meaning, but they will be instantly accessible to everyone who sees them.
Metal is Richard’s chosen material, alongside using materials that don’t need finishes to elevate or protect them.
