Samar Sharif lives and sculpts in the Warwickshire countryside. She began sculpting stone under the tutelage of sculptor and artist Jude Tucker and has been doing so for 14 years.
Samar works in a variety of stones but favours Alabaster in its many different forms. She sculpts these into abstract pieces, which are inspired by the flow and movement within the stone. This allows her sculptures and the nature of the stone to work in synchronicity. This creates a calmness and relaxing serenity to her work, which in turn gives a tactile aspect to it.
Samar has sold at Kingham Lodge' in the Cotswolds, which she has been exhibiting at since 2018. Alongside that, she has exhibited at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum and has had private commissions and sales.
