Cheryl Gould

of London, UK

Cheryl Gould is a member of The Royal Society of Sculptors and creates sculptures that occupy an expressive space between realism and fantasy. After many years sculpting independently, she completed a Foundation year at Harrow School of Art, followed by a Fine Art BA (Hons) at Kingston Polytechnic. There she was inspired by her tutor, the late Dame Elizabeth Frink, which deepened her lifelong interest in mythology, magic and mystery.

Cheryl's work reflects a strong empathy with the human condition. Her thesis research into masks and the psychological aspects of masking led to the development of her Medieval Jester figures, through which she explores the comedy and tragedy of life. She works across a range of materials including clay, bronze and glass, with drawing the figure from life forming the foundation of her practice.

Cheryl's has exhibited widely, including the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, Mall Galleries, and the inaugural Malta Biennale, where she won a trophy. She runs life‑drawing workshops from her Harrow studio and is President of Harrow Art Society.
