Peter Walker

Peter Walker is a renowned sculptor and artist based in Staffordshire, with over 25 years of experience creating compelling public artworks and installations. Known for his mastery in bronze and contemporary sculpture, his work is inspired by themes of dynamic form, heritage, and the human spirit. Peter’s practice explores the intersection between art and place, often creating site-specific pieces that resonate deeply with their surroundings.

His work has been widely exhibited across the UK and internationally, including commissions for cathedrals, civic spaces, and large-scale public art projects regarded highly for captivating new audiences and transforming unusual places and spaces. Most recent works have been viewed at The Tower of London, St Paul's Cathedral, The National Memorial Arboretum. Peter has been artistic director for four national cathedrals, curator and art consultant for many wide scale national projects. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts, and member of the Royal British Society of Sculptors, Peter's portfolio includes both permanent sculptures and temporary light and sound installations, reflecting a broad and innovative approach to storytelling through art. His work frequently channels themes of memory, identity, and cultural reflection, making him a leading voice in modern British sculpture. Walker's portfolio includes a striking series of Corten steel animal sculptures that symbolise themes of freedom, resilience, and connection to nature, looking at the interplay between industry and natural form.
