Seamus Moran has been producing sculpture since 2001, exhibiting widely through galleries and solo shows. Much of his work originates from resin and iron casts taken from naturally weathered knots found in dead trees, alongside materials such as furniture mouldings, steel, leather, bone and shell. These diverse elements give his sculptures a strong sense of history, process and transformation.

In recent years, Seamus has increasingly explored figurative sculpture, with notable works such as Harness and Urban Burka, which challenge assumptions about identity, structure and how we position ourselves within the world. His work has received significant recognition, winning and being shortlisted for major national and international awards including the Threadneedle Prize, the National Open Art Competition, and Passion for Freedom, as well as the National Sculpture Awards People’s Choice.

Harness toured Royal Armouries venues during 2017–18, including a residency at the Tower of London. Seamus is a member of the Royal Society of Sculptors, Chair of the Newlyn Society of Artists, and has permanent works installed at Tremenheere Sculpture Gardens.
