Exhibitions highlight bold sculptural statement pieces alongside smaller, highly collectible works by the same makers. All pieces are available for purchase, offering a broad range of prices to suit both new collectors and seasoned enthusiasts. Featured ceramicists include Hannah Tounsend, Kyra Cane, Michel François, and Rebecca Appleby—artists celebrated for their exceptional craftsmanship and innovative approaches to clay. Their large-scale works push the boundaries of the material, marrying technical mastery with fine artistic vision.

Hannah Tounsend is a ceramicist and printmaker based in Rutland, known for her elegant hybrid vessels that merge the disciplines of throwing and slip casting. Her work balances precision with sensitivity, resulting in forms that are both refined and richly expressive.
In recent years, Tounsend has revisited the meticulous testing and detailed record-keeping that inform her distinctive ceramic surfaces. This exploration has expanded her practice to include artworks and grouped vessels that highlight the often-unseen processes behind the finished pieces. By bringing elements of the studio into the exhibition space, her work invites viewers into the quiet, methodical world of material experimentation and discovery.

Kyra Cane’s practice is rooted in careful observation and a deep desire to understand the ceramic materials and processes she works with. Porcelain is her chosen medium, and wheel-throwing is her primary method of construction. The distinctive marks and forms she creates are shaped by the ever-changing landscapes that inspire her.
In recent work, Kyra has begun to extend the boundaries of her practice, exploring new scales and surfaces. These developments invite a more personal and emotional response, often resonating with the viewer’s own connection to wild and untamed spaces. At the core of her work remains a constant fascination: the transformation of fragments of earth into fine-walled vessels.

Michel François uses ancient timeless techniques to create functional vessels. They benefit from a purity of form giving them a sculptural quality. His own glazes are crafted using Feldspar, Cornish stone and ash from local trees, such as Chestnut, Ash, and Beech.
By starving the kiln of oxygen, he draws minerals and oxides from inside the clay to the surface. There they react with the ash glaze, combining to act as prisms that filter and reflect light. This process ensures that each piece is unique.

Rebecca Appleby (b. Leeds, UK) is a British sculptor and ceramicist whose work explores the interplay between structure and decay, order and chaos. Trained in ceramics at Edinburgh College of Art (BA, 2001), she now lives and works in Yorkshire, where she maintains a dedicated studio practice and exhibits widely in the UK and internationally.
Appleby’s sculptures fuse industrial and organic aesthetics. She often builds clay forms over steel armatures, intentionally allowing surface cracking, warping, and ‘trauma’ to emerge as metaphors for rupture, resilience, and transformation. Her visual language draws on Brutalist architecture, geological formations, and abstract expressionism, while embracing the Japanese aesthetic of wabi-sabi—the beauty found in imperfection and impermanence.
