Graduating from Chelsea College of Arts in 2015, Hannah Wareham was awarded the sculpture prize for her evocative bronze works. Since then, she has been commissioned by a range of private clients and created pieces for prestigious names including the Royal Lancaster Hotel and Hitachi. This summer, she held her first solo exhibition in Hastings.

Working from her studio in East Sussex, her work is influenced by the surrounding natural world and our relationship with it and each other. Her practice has predominantly been based on the transformational nature of casting and sculpture. Following a stage 4 cancer diagnosis in 2020, she spent two years in treatment and is now in remission and has made a new body of work that explores fragility and resilience in nature. Crafted in porcelain, these delicate forms weave together natural and unnatural elements to create ambiguously delicately sculpted objects reminiscent of a cabinet of curiosities, and so ‘The Petrified Beasts' were born.
