Anthony Theakston

Anthony Theakston studied ceramics for six years, graduating from Bristol with an Honours Degree in Ceramics, followed by a Master of Arts in Ceramic Design from Cardiff University in 1990. After completing his studies, he spent five years lecturing at Camberwell College of Arts and Falmouth School of Art, while simultaneously establishing himself as a studio ceramicist.

In 1991, Anthony was selected as a Crafts Council maker, exhibiting internationally under their auspices at major events in New York and San Francisco. Early gallery representation included Adrian Sassoon, Contemporary Applied Arts, and numerous galleries across the UK and the USA.

Anthony now exhibits regularly at leading European galleries and is represented at European and American art fairs. In recent years, he has collaborated with a foundry to cast his ceramic sculptures in bronze, allowing for a larger scale of work. His designs are collected worldwide and held in major UK museum collections, including the British Council Crafts Collection, the Ashmolean Museum, and the Fitzwilliam Museum.
