Emma Jean Kemp
Emma’s art explores human experience, from how we move to how we feel. Her work often captures intimate moments in our lives, that reveal our vulnerability yet resilience; these sculptures bring beauty and joy to a home, while quietly inviting reflective thought.
Emma’s art explores human experience, from how we move to how we feel. Her work often captures intimate moments in our lives, that reveal our vulnerability yet resilience; these sculptures bring beauty and joy to a home, while quietly inviting reflective thought.
Movement is central to Emma’s practice, both artistically and personally. She has trained Capoeira for over twenty years; her love for this martial art has driven her fascination of human anatomy and inspiration to create dynamic sculptures that celebrate physical expression.
Emma works predominantly in clay, before casting the final pieces in bronze or bronze resin. Emma has been a professional artist for over 15 years, working with galleries across the UK as well as exhibiting internationally and fulfilling various commissions. At the heart of her practice is a desire to celebrate movement, curiosity and the simple pleasure of being alive.
