Malcolm West earned his honours degree in art before spending a year working for an art and design agency. He then took the leap to become a full-time professional artist, a path he has followed passionately now for over 40 years.

Malcolm West earned his honours degree in art before spending a year working for an art and design agency. He then took the leap to become a full-time professional artist, a path he has followed passionately now for over 40 years.

Producing sculptures, paintings and drawings, Malcolm is inspired by dance and mythology and tries to create high quality work imbued with grace, elegance and beauty. He mainly works in clay, bronze, bronze resin and stone.

Throughout his career as a professional artist, he has consistently exhibited his work. He has had several solo shows in London and Germany and has participated in numerous joint and group exhibitions primarily in southern England. His artwork is included in collections around the world. In the past, he frequently received commissions to create jellybean portraits and sculptures. Some of the works were commissioned by Madame Tussauds, Selfridges on Oxford Street, Madonna's management company, and the President of the Bahamas. During the 1990s, Malcolm created numerous backdrop scenes for events and shows. He also takes commissions for figurative art, portraits and genre pieces, whether in sculptural format, painting or drawing.
